Living at the gates of ‘Little Paris’
Cortina North, Bucharest (RO)
The Cortina North residential complex in the Romanian capital Bucharest offers 1,500 high-quality flats. In the bathrooms you can find many Geberit products.
The way out of the city centre leads past communist prefabricated buildings that rise up like silent sentinels, as well as magnificent Art Nouveau buildings and villas. Such French-influenced architecture – the city even has its own triumphal arch – has earned Bucharest the name ‘Little Paris of Eastern Europe’.
To the north is Pipera, an up-and-coming neighbourhood whose cityscape is characterised by cranes. One of them stands on the construction site of the Cortina North residential complex, where the last of four buildings is being completed.
High standard of living
Once completed, 1,500 high-quality flats will be available to the population of Bucharest. Residents will have plenty to do, from a large swimming pool to a fitness and wellness centre and a running track. The modern flats offer highlights such as LED strips integrated into the door frames, which indirectly illuminate the rooms.
The high construction standard is also evident in the bathroom. The installation and drainage system as well as the flushing technology, the toilet and the shower channel are all from Geberit. “Premium products for a premium project,” says Nicu Dobre, Project Manager at the investment company Eden Capital Development.
Understanding quality
He sees the products as a good sales argument for the flats. Cosmin Paun, the responsible Geberit sales consultant, explains: “Geberit is a wish brand in Romania. People with higher incomes prefer premium products like Geberit.”
For Nicu Dobre, it’s not just the design that counts: “The products are not only fancy, but also robust and durable. He also appreciates the fact that they are very easy to install and repair. However, it is also thanks to good relationships that Eden Capital Investment relies on the Swiss sanitary technology group for its high-end projects: “Cosmin Paun is always there to support us.”

KNOW-HOW INSTALLED
iCon Rimfree WC
Beyond design, Geberit places particular emphasis on hygiene and ease of cleanliness in its WC ceramics. The Geberit WC from the iCon bathroom series is designed without a flush rim. This means that there are no hidden or hard-to-reach areas where deposits could build up. In addition, a flush guide ensures hygienically perfect flushing with low water consumption.
