Routine? No thanks!
Lisa works as an IT Application Analyst at Geberit and loves a challenge
Lisa has worked as an IT Application Analyst in Warehouse & Purchasing Applications at Geberit in Pfullendorf (DE) since October 2017. However, the former intern has known about the company since her university days. Today, she is involved in SAP projects – from planning all the way through to implementation. For Lisa, it is the mix of process optimisation and coding that makes her job so interesting.
“I need a bit of variety in my everyday work. I was looking for the right mix of development, processes, conception and insights into operating areas, and Geberit offered exactly the right combination. In my current role, I am involved in projects, carry out programming and am the contact person for other departments. I first found out about my current department back when I was writing my bachelor’s thesis in 2015, and was fortunate enough to start working here in 2017.
Today, I provide IT support for tools in logistics and purchasing, evaluate new IT systems, work on the rollout of these systems and develop new functions. I work in an international team that involves colleagues here on site and also Geberit staff abroad and at company headquarters in Switzerland, depending on the respective project. Cooperation with other departments is always very intense here. What is important to me is the values that everyone lives by, such as open communication, transparency, flat and clearly defined hierarchies, and open doors. This is something I am fortunate enough to experience every day. We can work together across all levels without restrictions and have a healthy error culture.
I think that people who are open-minded and can be honest with each other feel right at home in our team. We attach great importance to sharing our knowledge, whether through direct support or through departmental wikis. None of us work in our own bubble. From my very first day, I was involved in projects and was in touch with international project teams. We are a young team, actually with quite a few women, working in IT, with colleagues who are happy to pass on their experience.
What surprised me was the sheer dimension of Geberit’s involvement from an IT perspective. Seeing projects implemented in-house from A to Z and driven forward with the use of innovative systems and technologies – such as artificial intelligence – really impressed me, and I’m proud to be an active part of this process. I think this is a great place for me to develop and be faced constantly with new challenges. Boring routines really aren’t my thing.”
